Rosanna Wire-Free or Angelina Underwire: Which Bra Cup Is Right for You?

As the founders of The Bra Lab, one of the questions we hear most often is: “Should I choose the Rosanna or the Angelina?”

We designed both cups to provide support, versatility, and more freedom in your wardrobe—but they meet different needs. Your best choice comes down to how you like your bra to feel and how you plan to wear it.

Here’s our personal guide to help you decide.

Meet Rosanna: Our Wire-Free Everyday Favorite

We created the Rosanna Wire-Free Bra Cup for women who want comfortable, everyday support without an underwire.

Rosanna features soft, molded cups with built-in stabilizers that provide a natural shape and gentle lift. It’s the cup we recommend when comfort is your top priority, but you still want a smooth, supportive fit under your clothing. This could also be a good bra option for dance costumes.

Rosanna may be right for you if you want:

  • Comfortable, wire-free support
  • A smooth shape under T-shirts and everyday clothing
  • Lightly padded, molded cups
  • Gentle lift and a natural silhouette
  • Classic, halter, or racerback styling
  • A versatile bra you can wear throughout the day

Rosanna is available in Black, Amber, and Beige. Black is a timeless essential, Beige is a great neutral under lighter clothing, and Amber is a beautiful, warm alternative that pairs perfectly with our coordinating Amber bands and straps.

One important note: Rosanna is not designed to be worn strapless. You’ll need to add a back band and wear it with shoulder straps. Sizes 1-4 have a pushup pad in the bottom of the cup.

Meet Angelina: Our Underwire and Strapless Problem-Solver

We designed the Angelina Underwire Bra Cup for the outfits that traditional bras make difficult to wear.

Angelina has molded cups, flexible underwire, and reinforced side clasps for added shaping and support. It can be worn with straps for everyday use or styled without shoulder straps when you need a secure strapless option.

We especially love Angelina for weddings, special occasions, backless styles, tricky necklines, and any outfit that requires your bra to adapt.

Angelina may be right for you if you want:

  • Structured underwire support
  • A smooth, molded shape
  • A secure strapless option
  • Convertible styling for halter, racerback, one-shoulder, or classic looks
  • A bra that works with open-back or low-back outfits
  • More support and versatility for special occasions

Angelina is available in Black and Beige. Black is a classic choice for darker clothing, while Beige creates a discreet foundation under lighter colors.

The Angelina cups tend to run generously. If you fall between sizes, we generally recommend sizing down—but please reach out to us if you’re unsure. We’re always happy to help you find the right fit before you order. We also have this style in sizes 1-3 in the lace option available.

Which Cup Would We Recommend?

If you want soft, wire-free comfort for everyday wear, we would start with Rosanna.

If you prefer the support of an underwire or need a bra that can be worn strapless, we would choose Angelina.

Many of our customers eventually add both to their collection. Because our pieces are interchangeable, you can use the same compatible back bands and shoulder straps to create different looks with either cup.

First, Let’s Find Your Bra Lab Size

Before ordering your cup, the most important step is converting your traditional bra size into a Bra Lab size.

Our system is different because your cup and back band are selected separately. This lets you build a bra based on your individual proportions instead of relying on a traditional, preassembled bra size.

You can enter your current bra size into the converter directly on either product page. You can also use your measurements with our Size Guide and Conversion Tool.

When measuring, keep the tape snug directly under your bust and around the fullest part of your bust. If you have any questions, please contact us before ordering. We would much rather personally help you choose the right size the first time.

How to Build Your Bra

When we created The Bra Lab, we wanted to give women more control over their bras and their wardrobes. Instead of buying a completely different bra for every outfit, you can build a system of pieces that work together.

Here’s how to order:

  1. Convert your size. Use the converter on any cup product page or visit our Size Guide.
  2. Choose your cup. Select the Rosanna or Angelina in your preferred size and color.
  3. Add a back band. Your cup is an individual piece, not a complete bra, so you will need a compatible back band. Choose a matching band, a decorative style, or a clear option depending on your outfit.
  4. Choose your shoulder straps. Add interchangeable shoulder straps to create classic, halter, racerback, or other convertible looks. Shoulder straps are optional when wearing Angelina strapless.
  5. Mix, match, and make it yours. Change your bands and straps whenever your outfit or your mood changes. That freedom is exactly why we created The Bra Lab.

We’re Here to Help You Choose

We know that trying a new bra system can come with questions, especially when it comes to sizing. As founders, we care deeply about helping each customer find the right combination.

If you’re still deciding between Rosanna and Angelina—or you need help choosing your size, color, band, or straps—chat with us or email shop@thebralab.com. We’ll be happy to personally guide you through the process.

With love,
Jennifer & Gina
